Welcome to the Veterans One-stop Center of Western New York, Inc. (“VOC of WNY”), WNY’s premier, community-based, independent, nonprofit collaborative, offering U.S. veterans, service members, and their families, the convenience of a barrier-free One-stop Center in which to access a coordinated, individualized suite of services for veterans.
At the VOC of WNY we understand that helping veterans access the benefits and services that are available to them, will, in many instances, require personalized assistance. To that end we offer an individualized continuum of care in the comfort of a One-stop Center environment that is welcoming, affirming, and responsive to each individual veteran’s specific needs.
Our coalition of community partners collaborate to provide coordinated and integrated services in a case managed environment. Through innovative public and private partnerships, we use a collaborative approach to serving the entire veteran by linking the veteran to community resources and providing an individually tailored community-based plan designed to meet the specific needs of the veteran and their family, along the entire continuum of care.
The VOC of WNY offers services provided by existing, independent service providers working together in a coordinated way to provide a seamless program that assists Veterans and their families in developing wellness and individual potential; a tailored community-based plan that leads to the successful achievement of their goals, realization of their full potential, and reintegration into our community.
As our country’s involvement in over eleven years of combat begins to wind down, the need for the Veterans One-Stop Center of WNY could not be more pronounced nor more immediate. WNY veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan face a variety of challenges once they get home. The needs of this latest generation of veterans, compound the need for services that veterans from past era require as they enter into new phases of their lives. Addressing these needs is a complex problem that involves not only the VA but also other public-sector programs run by the state or local governments, as well as civilian health care and service providers.
The VOC of WNY works to complement the efforts of the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense, and along with state, county, and local public and private resources in order to provide a full network of veteran’s services in an integrated, coordinated, and managed manner – from comprehensive outreach and intake, through case management and support services.
The VOC of WNY provides the solution to many of the challenges most WNY veterans, service members, and their families face today in obtaining the services and benefits they need, earned, and deserve.
